Joyce C Sheets

Joyce was united in marriage to Robert Sheets on March 24, 1950 in Akron, Ohio and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her birth parents, her adoptive parents, Paul and Kathleen Holman, 2 sons, Robert Sheets and Bill Sheets, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Joyce was a dedicated military wife, mom and grandma who was a surgical nurse by trade and over the years, served lots of patients in private duty. She attended St. John Parish, spent lots of time at the Forks Senior Center and was a very active lady. She enjoyed lots of things, including knitting and making hats for the school children, BINGO, puzzles (jigsaw and crossword), playing the organ, traveling, especially her trips with her senior groups and various trips with her family. She also enjoyed playing games on the computer and cards games with her Monday afternoon friends and spending time with her cat companion, Babe (whom no one else had quite the same love for).

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Cindy (Curt) Francisco of Burlington, Pat (Bruce) Huepenbecker of Marshall, daughter-in-law, Debra (Bill) Sheets of Springport, 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ann Frye as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Joyce’s family will celebrate her life on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 with visitation beginning at 11AM until the time of her service at 12PM at J. Kevin Tidd funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. Interment will follow where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Robert in Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forks Senior Center.
