
Juanita was born in Piggott, Arkansas to Grover (Cleve) Cleveland Synder and Carrie
(Bratcher) Snyder. She died at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. The family, including
her sister Helen and brother James moved to Michigan in 1929. She attended the Albion
Public Schools. On October 24, 1934 she was married to William F. Lutzke Jr. in Angola,
Indiana. They had been married 70 years when he died April 9, 2005.
Juanita is survived by her daughters Marlene Plassman of Albion and Karen Bayly of
N. Ft. Myers, Florida. Her son Douglas Lutzke died in 2009. She also is survived by
nine grandchildren; Jennifer, Julie and Amy Plassman, Mitchell and Theodore Lutzke,
Wendy Lutzke Macomber, Cynthia Mills, Michael Watson and Derek Shilling
She was predeceased by a grandson Jack L. Watson II. She also has 20 great grandchildren
and one great great grandson.
During her life she worked at the Estelle Dress Shop, City Bank & Trust, Albion Ford
Dealership and Brooks Foundry. In her free time she bowled, played games of cards,
spent many happy winter months in Florida. Juanita enjoyed watching sporting events
on television, especially tennis and knew most of the statistics for her players.
Juanita was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and participated in
Bible study classes and Women’s Circle. For many years she kept a journal and noted
her activities along with those of other family members so whenever there were questions
about when an event took place she had the answer.
Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Albion on Monday, May 6,
2013 from 9:30 until the 11:00 A.M. Service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Albion.
