

Laurie Ann Whitfield, born on June 30, 1963, in Albion, Michigan, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 62 in her home under the loving care of her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jack and Lorna (Bailey) Winchell.
Laurie is survived by her children, Misty Jo (Steven) Sigman, Eric (Felicia) Bowden, and Troy Whitfield. She was a cherished grandmother to Stephen Barns, Mathew Gibson, Gage Miller, Amber Bowden, and Owen Whitfield. Her siblings, Mickey Bailey, Melody (Dan) Redmond, Michael Adams, Michelle (Curtis) Rodgerson, Christine McLeod, Gene (Jennifer) Chavers, and Rufas Chavers, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, also mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Laurie had many caregivers, who became her family over the years. They tended to her needs and spoiled her daily with love and compassion. They made her life rich and fulfilled and the remainder of her family is eternally grateful.
Laurie had a profound love for dancing and enjoyed any music that allowed her to dance. She was an enthusiast of good food and had a particular fondness for the television show "Law & Order: SVU" (Stabler). Her family was her greatest joy, and she was always seen with a smile on her face. Among her favorite films was "Dirty Dancing" (Swayze).
Laurie Ann Whitfield will be remembered for her warm, sassy, playful and mischievous spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
Services to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 with visitation starting at 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
