

Melinda (Solis) Macedo, age 51 of Battle Creek went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice under the loving care of her family. She was born February 19, 1965 in Albion the daughter of Eusebio and Julia (Rivera) Solis. Melinda is preceded in death by her mother, Julia and her grandparents, Rita and Esteban Rivera.
Melinda worked at Sam’s Club for over 17 years and enjoyed music and loved to dance. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She liked to shop, especially for shoes and loved to travel and spend time at the beach. She also treasured her trips to Denver, Colorado to see her grandbabies there. She was also a wonderful cook and was famous for her dishes, especially her meatloaf, fried chicken and flautas. Another joy for Melinda was Bingo; she enjoyed both Mexican and American Bingo and had the greatest luck with scratch off tickets.
Melinda leaves to cherish her memory her father, Eusebio, Sr., husband, Aurelio, 3 children: Roberto “Julian” Avendano, Estefana (Ashambi Guy) Avendano, Jacinto (Britney Roach)Avendano, 11 grandchildren, siblings: Olivia (Ricardo) Generi, Eusebio (Susie) Solis Jr., Robert Solis, Irene Solis, Benito Solis, Lionel Solis.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6-8 PM with an evening Rosary at 7:30 PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 12th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve A. Shafe officiating. Melinda will be laid to rest at Albion Memory Gardens.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Tio Jr. and Tia Susie and Tia Olivia for all their tender love and care during Melinda’s illness.
