Nancy Ann Putnam, age 90, of Homer, Michigan, passed away on March 5, 2026. She was born on July 27, 1935. A hard-working, loyal, selfless, and caring woman, Nancy will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by those who knew and loved her.
Nancy grew up on a farm, where her father raised and farmed with Clydesdale horses. She carried forward the steady values of that upbringing throughout her life. She was also Class Treasurer of the Homer High School Class of 1954, a role that reflected her reliability and dedication to others.
Nancy married her husband, Edward Putnam on July 17, 1954. He preceded her in death. Nancy loved being a mother and grandmother, and she found her greatest joy in caring for her family and being present for them in both everyday moments and life’s milestones.
Nancy attended everyone’s sporting events, always showing up with quiet pride and unwavering support. She enjoyed baking—especially with the grandkids—and was known for canning jams and spaghetti sauce. Many will fondly remember her caramel corn at Halloween, a tradition that brought warmth and delight year after year. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, especially Orioles and Hummingbirds.
Nancy’s devotion extended beyond her home. She maintained and placed flowers at family gravesites, honoring loved ones with consistent care. She also kept track of classmates, sending flowers when they passed—an enduring reflection of her thoughtfulness and the way she quietly looked after others.
Family was most important to Nancy. She took care of her family in countless ways, living as a true caregiver whose legacy is one of steadfast love, service, and presence.
Nancy is survived by her children: Lee (Lori) Putnam, Kyle (Eileen) Putnam and Brent (Teresa) Putnam, grandchildren: Nicole Patrick, Jennifer Putnam, Kevin Putnam, Caitlin Nichol, Sheila Griffin, Samantha Mitchell, Jessica Dyer, Lloyd Putnam; 16 great-grandchildren, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
