Dick loved camping, traveling with this family, and watching the Lions play on TV. He loved to read and loved to watch the news and Walker Texas Ranger. He was an honorable man whose integrity was uncompromising. He was a military veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorene (Hurdelbrink) Fritz; children, Kimberly (Mitchell) Cvitkovic, Susan Fritz, and Richard E. (Emily) Fritz; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Fritz; daughter, Teresa M. Fowler; brother in law, Bill Hurdelbrink, and sister in law, Shirley Gray.
A visitation for Dick will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr, Albion, Michigan 49224, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
