

He was born to Eugene (Chic) and Jean Chojnowski on September 15, 1954 at Camp Kilmer in Landing, New Jersey.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents Leo/Stella Chojnowski and Edward/Mary Kostka, father Chic, brother Thomas, and cousin Gary Brown.
Bob is survived by his beloved: mother Jean Chojnowski, children Laura (Patrick) Ellis, Brian (Emily Masalski) Chojnowski, Erin Valkuchak, brother Mark (Cathy) Chojnowski, sister Barbara (Jim) Vance, aunts June and Sue, and his special friend and sister-in-law Sheryl Chojnowski. He also leaves his grandchildren, nieces and nephews who meant much to him – Owen, Grace, Alex, Elsa, Jacob, Colin, Graham, Kelly, Casey, Heather, Holly, Anne, many cousins and the much loved Konkle family.
He married Susan M. Konkle in 1974 and she survives.
He studied at Wawasee Preparatory High School, Lumen Christi High School, Jackson College, Washtenaw College, and University of Michigan earning degrees in applied sciences and business management then became the 1004th registered respiratory therapist.
During his life he was proud to work at Foote Hospital as a therapist, Albion Hospital as the director for Cardiopulmonary Therapy then Vice President for 35 years. After, Bob affiliated with Decker Manufacturing providing human resources, environmental, and safety services.
An avid golfer he was a longtime member of Duck Lake Country Club making many friends. He also appreciated water sports and participating as a member of the American Lung Association, Michigan Works, Knights of Columbus, March of Dimes, Christian Churches, and volunteering for many other activities.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with an evening Rosary service at 7:30pm at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 beginning with visitation at 10 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion, MI 49224 celebrated by Father Joe Gray. No donations are requested, but memorial contributions could be made to the charity or church of your choice.
