Robert (Butch) Goodall of Albion (Duck Lake), passed away on January 14, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born March 2, 1931 in Jackson, MI to Elmer and Irene Goodall. Robert was a graduate of Albion College and Michigan State University and retired from Albion Industries where he designed casters as a mechanical engineer. He served in the U.S. Navy retiring as a lieutenant in 1957. In 1953 he married his Valentine bride, Delores Cranston, who passed away on their 52nd anniversary February 14, 2006 (52 years of marriage). Robert was very well known for his love of barbershop quartet music and would entertain anyone who would listen. Most everyone knew him from hearing him belt out songs as he drove around Duck Lake on his pontoon boat. He sang in several groups and belonged to the Battle Creek Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. One of Robert's proud accomplishments was holding the record for blood donations in Calhoun and the surrounding counties. He has generously helped save lives by giving over 40 gallons of blood between Michigan and Florida. His favorite hobby was golf, having belonged to Duck Lake Country Club for most of his life. He also loved swimming, and motorcycle riding.
Robert is survived by his 3 children, Allen Goodall of Jackson, MI, Barry Goodall of Bristol, IN, and Cheryl Platt of Eaton Rapids, MI and her 2 children, Jason VanAken (Courtney) of Onondaga, Lyndsey Dickenson (JD) of Remus.
He shared the last 11 years with his love, Jayne Harris. They made many happy memories together.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Butch’s life is planned for this summer at Duck Lake.
Donations may be made in Robert's honor to the American Red Cross.
