Shirley Coburn, age 82 of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019. She was born January 30, 1937 in Salyersville, KY the daughter of Clifford and Lula (Mullins) Watkins. She married the love of her life, Berlin Coburn and he preceded her in death in 2007. Also preceding her in death are a son, Ernest Ray Coburn, granddaughter, Makayla Coburn; siblings: Sally Mullins, Stella Baker, Ellie Marshall, Angeline Goble, Pat Goble and Clyde Watkins.
Shirley loved cooking, gardening and canning her veggies. She also loved to sing and as a faithful woman, she found great joy in attending church regularly as well as playing guitar at church. Shirley was a very loving woman who loved her family above all else.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kathie Damron, Tim Coburn, Keith (Aleasha) Coburn; grandchildren: MaryAnn (Michael) Kempker, Shelby Smith, Kobey Coburn, Amber (Tim) Trudelle, MacKenzie Bellot, Burlynne Bellot, Tony Coburn; great-grandchildren: Alexa Coburn, Alena Coburn, Britney Kempker, Stefen Kempker; Great-great grandson, Cannon James; siblings: Lila Shilder, Roxanne Trusty, Phyllis Day and James Watkins.
Shirley’s family will receive visitors on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 3-7 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. Services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, July 27th at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Snyder officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Albion Memory Gardens.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to Masonville Place in Coldwater (her 2nd family) for all their love and kindness given to Shirley for the past 2 years.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southern Care Hospice.
