Mr. Tommie Allen

Tommie “Truck” Allen Sr., age 77 made his transition from life into eternal rest on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home with family by his side. He was born January 24, 1937 in Greenville, Alabama to the late Charlie Allen and Mary Lee Poole. Tommie attended Greenville Training School in Greenville, AL.

He was united in holy matrimony to Wrilla Mae Harris on June 27, 1959 and to these union four children was born. He accepted the Lord at an early age. He united with

Mt. Ida Baptist Church in Greenville, AL. He moved to Albion in 1968 and found

employment with Hayes-Albion where he was a core line operator for 38 years.

After moving to Albion he united with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served

on the usher board for many years.

Tommie loved spending time with his family; he also loved all sporting events.

He loved the Blues and could at times, be talked into playing special tunes for

his loved ones on his guitar and harmonica.

Tommie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years; Wrilla,

daughter, Patricia Stallworth of Jackson, MI and a son, Timothy Allen of

Battle Creek, MI; 7 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Lillie

Tolliver of Ft. Deposit, AL, Betty Crenshaw of Greenville, AL, Ediffa (Johnny)

Bogan of Greenville, AL, Gracie Womack of Greenville, AL, Sadie Shepherd of

Detroit, MI, Brenda Harrison of Skokie, IL, Janice (Tim) Stamps of Greenville, AL,

Peggy Allen of Atlanta, GA, Angela Mosley of Greenville, AL, Stephanie Cook of

Greenville, AL; brothers Charlie Allen Jr. of Greenville, AL, Dale (Marvella) Clayborne

of Memphis, TN; 8 sister-in-laws and 7 brother-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews,

cousins and several special friends. Tommie enjoyed a very close and

special relationship with his great-grandson Mekhi Stallworth. Tommie was preceded

in death by his parents, step-mother Willie Joe Allen, sons Tommy Allen Jr. and

Richard Allen, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 from 11:00AM

Until 12:00 (Noon) at the Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 711 Grace Street,

Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at

12:00 (Noon) at the church with Pastors Charlie J. Jones and Steve Williams officiating.

Interment will be held at Albion Memory Gardens.
