Verla Dean Nelson

Verla Dean (Landenberger) Nelson, 89, made her transition on January 30, 2017 at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, MI. Verla was born on November 7, 1927 to the union of Ogden and Cecile (Dowding) Landenberger in Albion, Michigan.

She married Howard Robert Nelson who precedes her in death.

Verla was a lifelong resident of Albion. She was a homemaker that enjoyed being around her family and friends. On many occasions, Verla could be found riding around the farm on her Gator (ATV), or visiting with friends, namely her friend Marge. Verla loved to travel to Florida during the winter months, and she was very fond of her daughter’s dog, “Rue”. Verla will truly be missed by those she love.

Verla leaves to treasure her precious memories four children: Robert (Roxanna) Nelson, Larry (Roberta) Nelson, and Nancy (Al) Brenner, all of Albion; Rebecca (John) Wiedmayer of Kalamazoo. Nine Grandchildren: Tim, Kevin (Denell), Brianna, Matt, Sam (Sierra), Eric, Jill (Ryan), Sommer (Ben), and Tori (Jake Kubiak), and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday February 4, 2017, at 1:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral

Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion with Rev. James Snyder officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday February 3, 2017 at the funeral home from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
