

Wanda Jeanne (Washington) Taylor began her life to eternity on May 2, 1953 and arrived to her destination on June 1, 2016. She was born to the union of Eddie Washington and Helen (Coleman) Washington. Wanda attended Albion Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1972. During this time she met the love of her life Vern Taylor who is fondly known as Chi Chi. They married on April 21, 1972 and kept their promise to each other for 43 years. As they shared their love for each other three beautiful daughters were brought forth in this union. Naomi Smith, Phoebe Jeanne Taylor and Wanda Lovie LaVern Taylor were sparkles of joy for Wanda. Along with the help of her dear husband, they had the joy of raising a special young lady named Laniece White (Nickname Punkin Poo) who was a delight.
Wanda was always giving service to others. She served the community of Albion while working at the Michigan Secretary of State for 33 years.
She loved landscaping and this passion can be seen in the beauty of her yard which she called her “Garden of Eden”. She was an original member of Gethsemane Temple C.O.G.I.C located in Albion, Michigan then became under the leadership of Superintendent Joseph Plair of Congregation C.O.G.I.C in Kalamazoo.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memory, her first and only love Vern Taylor, one daughter Naomi (Doran) Smith of Albion, three sisters; Helen (William) Murphy, Lovie Larain (James) Smith and Verena (Tony) Westbrook; two brothers Eddie (Deloris) Washington and Robert (Rosyln) Washington, a host of family members, many friends and two grand dogs, Salvation and Hallelujah.
Celebration of Life will be held NOON on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C, 711 Grace Street, Albion, Michigan, with Pastor Ramona Truss officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Wanda will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
