Condon "Barry" Barrett Payne, age 53, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Barry dedicated his career as a communications officer in the US Army Airborne, and the 278th army national guard. He was a member of the VFW post 5154, Louisville TN with a special interest in supporting combat veterans with PTSD. Barry was an avid NASCAR fan of Rusty Wallace, St. Louis Cardinals fan, but first and foremost a Tennessee Vols fan.
Condon was greeted at the gates of Eternity by his father, Condon Edward Payne; grandparents, Thomas and Betty Payne.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his dedicated son, Shea Thomas (Carmen) Payne of Chattanooga, TN; loving mother, Jackie Sue Payne of Knoxville, TN; sister, Julie (Kevin) Kelso, of Louisville, TN; best friend, Buddy Kemper, and many close friends.
The family will honor Barry with services at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN, in The Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, April 1, 2023, with a Receiving of Friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00pm. The family ask that donations be made in Condon Barrett's honor to VFW Post 5154, 2561 Hobbs Rd. Louisville, TN 37777.
