

POTTS, Guy W., age 89 of Karns, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011. He was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters, #102 for 62 years. He served in the US Navy during World War II, also serving with the CC Camps under President Roosevelt. He was a Master Mason, with Beaver Ridge Lodge, raised as a 32nd degree Scottish Rites in the Knoxville Temple, and also a Kerbela Shriner. He worked in the nuclear industry at TVA and Oak Ridge X10, K-25, Y-12 plants and also at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Survived by wife of 70 years, Marjorie Potts; children and spouses, Gloria and John Saxon, Judy and Mike Hayes, Lisa and David Kuykendall, Amber Potts, Todd and Deb Potts; grandsons, Lance, Tommy, Shane, Aaron and Jordan; and sister, Martha Raymer. A Masonic Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Sherwood Chapel, followed by a full Military Honors internment in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to ll:30 a.m., prior to the service. Memorial donations in Guy's name may be made to the Shriner Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY., 40502.
