Gordon Dennis Nowell

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dennis (Gordon Dennis) Nowell after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Dennis passed quietly in his sleep November 6, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was 87 years old. Dennis was born in Calgary, Alberta September 29, 1936 to Helen Pearl (Leach) and George Gordon Nowell. They moved to Vancouver, BC and Dennis attended General Gordon Elementary, Athlone Private School for Boys, Lonsdale Elementary School and North Vancouver Senior Secondary School where he met his wife of 65 years, Margaret Gladys (Davis). Dennis started working for Canada Safeway at 14 years of age as a buggy boy, and continued working for them for 47 years when he retired. He enjoyed gardening, duck hunting, fishing and golf in his spare time. Golf especially in his later years. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Kenneth (Pam), daughter Susan (Terry), daughter Tracy (Cory), son Douglas, seven granddaughters, Megan, Samantha, Lauren, Amanda, Rebecca, Jodie and Madelyne. Dennis is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Griffin, Niklas, Nash, Gibson, Ellie, Lennon and Roman. We would like to thank all the staff at Jackman Manor Seniors home in Aldergrove, BC for the fabulous care they have given Dennis these past couple of years. Dennis will be dearly missed by his family. A private memorial will be held in the Spring of 2024.
