John hired me as a Transit Operator in November1975. The start of an amazing career for me.
He used to say to me that he took a chance because I was so young but it payed off. 
He was such a caring, progressive thinking and decent man who made a positive difference during his time at transit.
My  condolences to the family.


Lin. ... So very sorry for your loss 😢. John was a kind  and terrific  man—- and babysitting Adrian I got  to  know the both of you  and became friends !! He was such a great Dad  and his love  for you both  was so  easy to see :  He will be missed by  many people  for sure.      My thoughts  for your loss are with you and Adrian ❤️. Lin, I remember working with John at Transit and I thought he was a kind, funny person and a person I greatly admired.

We were so fortunate to have met John during  our time together at Transit.  John encouraged me to take a chance and consider working at Skytrain in 1985.  After “many” conversations (did I mention how patient he was!!), I decided to jump ship.........and had a very successful and fulfilling career.  John was way ahead of his time in the Human Resources area........always looking for ways to address fairness and equality issues in the workplace.  A kind spirit may have left the world, but will always be in our hearts........thank you John for being a part of our lives.   Our thoughts are with the family at this most difficult time.
