Lalla, as she was affectionately known to her family, was born in the distant land of Manchuria and grew up in the beautiful city of Kobe in Japan. She was educated at St. Michael’s International School and spoke fluent Japanese, Russian and English.
Lalla immigrated to Canada in 1963, following in the footsteps of her older sister Mariko. It was here that she met her husband, Harvey Schultz, who she married in 1966. In 1971, Lalla and Harvey adopted their beautiful daughter Linda. They lived in an immaculate, loving home in Aldergrove, BC where they enjoyed graciously entertaining family and friends alike.
Lalla was the epitome of all that was good and kind in the world. She always had a smile on her face and a caring word to share with others. It was such a pleasure just sitting and talking with her. She was always so grateful to people for spending time with her, but we were the ones who were grateful to her. She had an unassuming way of making people feel special and uplifted, and she spread joy to everyone she encountered.
Lalla was greeted in Heaven by her father Tokio, her mother Evdakiya, her sister Mariko, her husband Harvey, and her daughter Linda. She will be greatly missed by her brother Hiroo, her nephews Aram and Craig (Lisa), her nieces Laura and Lisa (Anthony), her great nieces and nephews Dawson, Kaori, Julia, Emily-Rose, Dana and Kobe, and her extended family and friends.
A special thank you to the incredible staff at Cottage-Worthington Pavilion in Abbotsford for the amazing care and love that they provided to Kisako over the past few years. We are extremely grateful to you all.
