It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lynne Henri ( nee Pennington ) while vacationing with her husband Gerald in Mexico at the age of 65.
Lynne was pre deceased by her parents Evelyn and Ernest Pennington.
Lynne leaves behind her loving husband Gerald, sons Kevin ( Cari ) & Chris ( Megan ) and daughter Lesley Ann ( Ray ) and her beloved grandchildren Kailey, Kyan, Camden, Ben, Palmer & Jase. She also leaves behind her brother Bud Pennington.
Lynne was born in New Westminster on the 22nd of April 1957 and lived in North Vancouver for 13 years before moving to Coquitlam where she met Gerald whom she married on October 26th 1974. They lived in the Coquitlam area for a few years before moving to Surrey where they spent many happy years raising their 3 children. Lynne worked a few jobs before getting a job as a dental receptionist with Dr. Bianco in Port Coquitlam where she worked for 30 years, she was set to retire on April 3rd.
Lynne loved to travel, her and Gerald went on many trips together, one of her fondest memories was a trip to Disneyland with her whole family. It was on this trip that her future son in law Ray proposed to her daughter Lesley Ann. She also loved to spend a couple of weeks a year in the summer with her whole family in Osoyoos.
Lynne adored her children and grandchildren. To these kids she was known as "Nana". When Camden was born on the same day as her birthday she was asked what she wanted for her birthday and she said she got her gift that day. Lynne loved taking care of Lesley Ann's twins Palmer and Jase a few days a week, it brought her such joy to watch these kids grow. She also loved to go watch her grandson Kyan play baseball, her and Gerald spent many happy afternoons at the ballpark not only to watch Kyan play but also her boys Kevin & Chris as well as they were growing up. She made every birthday a special occasion for her kids as well as her grandkids. She and Gerald would host the whole clan on these special occasions. She was a good photographer and loved to take pictures of her family at every opportunity that arose. Christmas was also a special time for Lynne, her and Gerald would decorate the house and turn it into a colorful wonderland that I'm sure her children and grandchildren will never forget.
Lynne loved dogs and had one in her life for most of her life. One of her and Gerald's favorite things to do would be to go for a walk every night after dinner with a dog in tow.
Lynne made all her friends feel like they were part of the family. Her and Gerald hosted a bbq for quite a few years where they would entertain up to 30 plus people making sure that everyone felt welcomed.
Lynne's bright smile was infectious and she will greatly be missed by all who knew her.
A private service will be held at 2pm Friday April 14th at First Memorial Funeral Services in Aldergrove.
A celebration of life will be held in May ( date & time tba ) for her many friends to remember the fond memories they have of Lynne.
