

Born on August 18, 1938, to Archie and Ila McDonald, Madaline was part of a large family with eleven siblings. Growing up in a bustling, close-knit home shaped the kindness, resilience, and generosity she carried throughout her life.
Madaline was a devoted mother to David Sedore, Brenda (Casey) Hillton and Michael Sedore.. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Downer, with whom she shared many joyful years. Together, Madaline and Harry were known for their love of country music and could often be found dancing several nights a week to their favorite local bands. She was also predeceased by her beloved son Michael Sedore. Parents Archie and Ila McDonald and 9 brothers and sisters, Kay, Ella, Bill, Marie, Leroy, Jack, Frank, Joe, and Dale. She leaves behind her sister Sharon and brother Jim.
Working as a dedicated care aide, Madaline spent her career caring for others with compassion, patience, and dignity. At home, she loved crocheting and creating beautiful crafts, many of which she gifted to family and friends. Each handmade piece remains a treasured reminder of her creativity and the love she poured into everything she made.
Madaline took immense pride in her family, extended family and leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy. Her legacy lives on through them and through the countless memories she created with all who knew and loved her. She also had a great amount of friends that she cherished with lots of fun and laughs throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 12, 2025, 1PM at First Memorial in Aldergrove, located at 27555 31st Avenue. All who knew Madaline are welcome to attend and share in honoring her life.
May she rest peacefully, reunited with those she loved.
