Margaret Louise Christie

To have met Margaret is to have met a local player in an international film. Passionate about music and fashion yet willing to set much of it aside to raise a diverse and loving family in Port Alberni – not exactly the nexus of music and fashion! She taught us to care for the important things like nurturing friends and caring relationships. Willing to share her whole heart with complete strangers she won over many, many hearts in return. She also taught us to care for ourselves as a people in all things from eating well to making sure we continued to express our left-brained selves through the arts and music. And more music. The complete diversity of us sibs speaks volumes of her willingness to explore all aspects of her being and embrace all the whacky things we have done over the years with acceptance and the occasional eye roll.

The last year was tough with COVID preventing those in person visits that would light up her face and sitting under the pergola reminiscing about her and dad’s exploits in Eastern Europe before perestroika!

Though her worldly journey has ended, her spirit is free to fly through her family’s and her many, many friends’ hearts. Godspeed Margaret. We will miss you dearly.
