Martha Unger

Martha Unger (nee Banman), age 85 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Bevan Village Nursing Home with her loving husband by her side. She is absent from the body and present with her Lord forever more.

Born on December 5, 1939 in Winkler, Manitoba, Martha grew up and eventually met the love of her life, Lawrence Unger. They were married in Winkler on September 20, 1959 and began to build a life together and start their own family. In 1962, they made the decision to move to Abbotsford, BC where they continued to grow and raise their family and eventually retire. Martha devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Lawrence Unger, her daughter Janet (Larry) Epp, her sons, Brian (Sharon) Unger, Mike Unger, her 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Teena Klassen, and her two brothers, Abe (Betty) Banman, and Menno (Marianne) Banman.

Martha was predeceased by her parents, Abe and Susan Banman, her sister Anne (Ab) Siemens, and her daughter-in-law, Alena (Mike) Unger.

A private graveside service was held on April 8, 2025 at Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford.
