Bill was a larger than life personality and always the life of the party, never to be seen without the most handsome cowboy boots and sharply creased jeans. Even at 82, there wasn’t much gray in that perfectly coiffed hair. He sang the best silly songs that the next generations still sing in his honor. He was the famous chef among his Cedar Grove Deer Camp friends in Stephens and always the lively winner among his Oaklawn friends. He spent his career as an engineer for the railroad and spent his retirement wheeling and dealing as an entrepreneur.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Fran Van Noy; children: Tammy Barnes (Milton) and Van Van Noy (Laurie) ; grandchildren: Lacy Lambert (Brandon), VanNa Barnes (Sean), Reid Barnes, Gavin Van Noy, Henry Van Noy, and AvaBella Van Noy; 3 great grandchildren; Abby-Grace, Parker, and Colson; sister, Betty Mills, and three exchange students who continue to visit and love, Carmina Morena from Bolivia, Albert Arce Bolivia, and Claudia Santos from Brazil. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Van Noy, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Arkansas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, they ask that donations be made to Arkansas Hospice.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 6-8:00, at Pine Crest Funeral Home. The memorial service will start at 7:00 pm
