On Monday, October 5, 2020 @ 7:53 a.m., God called home one of his most faithful angels, Claire Elizabeth Brantly Burch. She celebrated her 80 and ½ birthday on the day of her homecoming. She was born on April 5, 1940, in Stamps, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and G.H. Brantly, brother James Brantley, sister Velma Brantly, granddaughter Rachel Ann Perkins, and son-in-law Keith Johnson, along with many other friends and relatives, who all welcomed her home.
She is survived by a loving husband and soul mate, Jerry Don Burch, one month shy of 62 years of marital bliss. Theirs was truly the greatest love story ever known. She is also survived by two daughters, Tammy Burch Johnson and Wendy Burch Watson, son-in-law Thomas Watson Jr., her youngest sister and best friend, Ruth Brantly Smith, and her husband Truman, three grandchildren – Tyler, James, and Mariah Perkins, and two great grandsons, Zayden and Zachery Parvaresh.
She retired from the Little Rock School district after over twenty years, and had an amazing impact on many generations of children over the years, always putting God, her family, and others first. God blessed her family with ten additional years of loving memories after her initial diagnosis of cancer, which she eventually succumbed to. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, and raised her daughters at Woodlawn Baptist Church, both of Little Rock, AR. Although our hearts are saddened by our loss, we take comfort in knowing Heaven is rejoicing and she can now walk pain free in Paradise until we all meet again. Respecting her final wishes, there will be no public service. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Cemetery, on Friday October 16, 2020, in the Waterfall Mausoleum.
