Ellen was born October 3, 1943 in Wichita Falls, TX. Ellen met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Hicks, in Santa Monica, California and they were married March 14, 1961. Together they had 3 children, Chuck, Tab, and Joe. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved big and she loved hard. She was a spiritual woman and involved in many church activities. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles “Chuck” Hicks; siblings, Ricky Shunkweiler, John Aytes, and Richard Ousey; sons, Chuck Hicks and wife, Beth, Tab Hicks and wife, Jerri, and Joe Hicks and wife, Amy. In addition she is survived by 3 bonus-daughters; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Ellen is preceded in death by her mother, Ester Edwards, her father, James Edwards, and her siblings, Cecelia Kuykendahl and Jay Ousey.
Visitation will be held at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 23581 I-30, Bryant, AR 72022 on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Ellen’s life at 12:00 p.m.
