As he became a father, he enjoyed camping, yard work, and tinkering with projects such as model cars and doll houses. He joined his kids on Sundays and Wednesday nights at Immanuel Baptist, preparing for events like the Derby Car Races and Fall Fun Night. He liked hanging out down by the river with friends as a younger adult, and even when he got older and had a houseboat docked there. In the summertime you could always find him at the pool with a cold one. He would spend his time off playing cards or darts with friends, listening to music, and the occasional trip to the casino.
In his younger years he was named “Happy Hal” because he is well known for his sense of humor and pranks, whether the timing and content was deemed appropriate or not! Even his work family at Russell Chevrolet experienced all the Happy Hal shenanigans, regular customers included. Around Halloween time, he would sneak around the house and scare the kids with the scariest mask he could find!
Hal is preceded in death by both parents, sister Nancy Burton, and son Alex Burton.
He is survived by sister Lisa Harper (Bobby) , daughter Kayleigh Hunter (Cody), son Trey Burton and granddaughters Lilly and Carleigh, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to his best friend Chuck Adams for his love and support through this tough time. As well as the care team at Hospice Home Care for their genuinely compassionate care.
A memorial for Harold will be held Saturday March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002.
