James Masters

James Michael “Mike” Masters passed into his Saviors arms unexpectedly on March 4, 2016, in Little Rock, the city of his birth on June 3, 1962. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marjorie Masters, and Janice and Jim Brooks. He is survived by his mother and step-dad, Jeannie and Wayne Marsh; brothers, Grant (Joan) Marsh of Vienna, Virginia, Greg (Tracee) Marsh of Little Rock, Jason (Melissa) Marsh of Pottsville, Arkansas; nephew, Colby Speer of Conroe, Texas; and numerous other family members and friends. Mike received his degree in music education from Arkansas Tech University in 1996. He taught band for the Mountain Pine School District for 16 years. Mike loved teaching and his band students even more. Mike enjoyed simple living and the great outdoors, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was greatly loved, and will be missed by all. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander, Pastor Paul Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
