Jean was a professional actress, who began her career in Murfreesboro, TN with the Footlight Players. When her former husband was transferred to the Little Rock Air Force Base, Jean pursued her acting and directing in productions at The Arkansas Arts Center, Murry Dinner Playhouse, and The Philharmonic before becoming one of the original cast members of The Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Jean was also often seen and heard in local television and radio commercials. In addition to her acting, she was a championship bowler and an accomplished pianist, church organist, and choir director.
She is preceded in death by her son, Derek Lind, parents, Leonard and Pearl (Wells) Squires, sisters, Orpha Brooks and Wanda Martin, nephew, Leonard Martin, husband, Frank N. Gordon, Jr. and his daughter, Jane Varner, as well as her former husband, Major Teddy Joe Lind, USAF (Ret.).
She is survived by her children, Tedra Lind Duck (John) and Jarrod Scott Lind (Richard), three grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Parker, great granddaughter Europa, nephew Charles Martin (Sandy), and step-children, Dr. Anne Perry (Tim) and Tom Gordon.
A memorial service for Jean will be held at 11:00 at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5, North, Alexander, AR on April 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
