Nita Rorie, born December 2, 1952, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 73. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Nita lived a life defined by love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Rorie, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage from June 19, 1970, until his passing on May 12, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lillian George, whom she held close in memory throughout her life.
Nita is survived by her three children, Tonya Rapp, Michael Rorie, and Tara Rorie, each of whom carries forward her strength, compassion, and unwavering love for family. She was a proud grandmother to Justin Greer, Ethan Rorie, Spencer Hinson, Gavin Hinson, and Jace Jones, and a delighted great-grandmother to Jerzy Greer, who brought her endless joy.
A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park on December 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
