María Luz fue hija de José Chávez y María Luz Torres.

Estuvo unida en matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Francisco Rafael Barrera, con quien se casó en 1984.

Fue una madre dedicada y orgullosa de sus hijos:

Eduardo Francisco Barrera (Elia Barrera), Román Barrera, Mauricio Barrera, Alejandra Barrera (Luis Yael García), Tonatiuh Barrera, Andrea Qadeib (Abdulrahman Qadeib) y Andrés Ramón Barrera.

María Luz fue una abuela amorosa de:

Yaritza Barrera, Román Barrera, Yorley Barrera, Yvette Barrera, Yael Alexander García, Allison Itzel García, Zair Emiliano García, Dominick Elias Barrera, Ayden Ayar Qadeib, Noah Qadeib, Matteo Itzahi Barrera, Mauricio Rafael Barrera, Ángel Amezcua y Francisco Barrera.

También fue bendecida con su bisnieta Yvani Terrazas.

A María Luz le gustaba bailar, reír, pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos, salir a caminar e ir a misa. Su amor, fortaleza y espíritu protector permanecerán por siempre en nuestros corazones.

With deep sorrow and faith in the Resurrection, we share the passing of María Luz Barrera-Chávez, a loving, protective, and strong woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.

María Luz was the daughter of José Chávez and María Luz Torres.

She was married to the love of her life, Francisco Rafael Barrera, in 1984.

She was a devoted mother to her children:

Eduardo Francisco Barrera (Elia Barrera), Román Barrera, Mauricio Barrera, Alejandra Barrera (Luis Yael García), Tonatiuh Barrera, Andrea Qadeib (Abdulrahman Qadeib), and Andres Ramon Barrera.

She was a cherished grandmother to:

Yaritza Barrera, Roman Barrera, Yorley Barrera, Yvette Barrera, Yael Alexander Garcia, Allison Itzel Garcia, Zair Emiliano Garcia, Dominick Elias Barrera, Ayden Ayar Qadeib, Noah Qadeib, Matteo Itzahi Barrera, Mauricio Rafael Barrera, Angel Amezcua, and Francisco Barrera.

She was also blessed with her great-granddaughter, Yvani Terrazas.

María Luz loved dancing, laughing, spending time with her children and grandchildren, going for walks, and attending Mass. Her love, strength, and caring spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
