Martha (Marty) Lou Thomas went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born on August 23, 1938, in McClellan, Arkansas, and grew up near Cotton Plant. Marty was the fourth of twelve children born to Oscar Elbert Wade and Hattie Wade.
Marty worked for more than 20 years at Jacuzzi, where she worked her way up to become a parts inspector. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time going to yard sales and relaxing with her favorite shows on the Hallmark Channel.
More than anything, Marty loved her family. She raised five children and helped raise several grandchildren, always putting her family first. She was a strong and honest woman who never hesitated to speak her mind. With Marty, you always knew where you stood, and those who loved her appreciated that about her. Her love for her family was constant and unwavering.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Elbert Wade and Hattie Wade; her husband, Carl Thomas Jr.; her son, Bill Kocsis; her daughter, Tina Thomas; and her siblings Bert Wade, Audie Wade, Dot Glover, Meldean Lacefield, and Bonnie Jean.
She is survived by her sons, Gene Smith (Angie), Bob Smith (Missy), and James Smith (Mindy); her daughter-in-law, Carol Kocsis; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings Lloyd Wade (Kay), Howard Wade, Jimmy Wade (Nancy), Irene Thompson, Frances Harrell, and Helen Cox; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved Carl. Her strength, honesty, and love for her family will always be remembered.
Visitation will be held on March 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002, US. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. also at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Following the services, Martha will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
