Sylvia Elizabeth Melvin

Sylvia Melvin, age 83, went peacefully to be with our Lord on Monday morning Jan 13th. She was born on August 22, 1941, in Hampton, Arkansas to the late Alexander Clemons and Lorean Buck. In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by two sisters Jimmie Lane Strickland and Bobbie Jean Murphy, and one son (Derek Melvin).

Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory include her husband of 63 wonderful years, George Melvin; two loving sons and daughters in law Sander and Cacelia Melvin and Conlee and Lakeisha Melvin; her devoted sister Maxine Ritchie; and fantastic grandchildren Natalie, Alexia, Callen, Talyah and Lauren as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was a passionate believer in doing God’s work, travelling the world with her sisters, and keeping her hair looking great! She will be mourned and missed by many but please rejoice with us that her eternity is secure and join us in celebrating her life and the exceptional example she set.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, Arkansas 72002.
