I got to know Charles through a social group AGAPE.  We shared meals and activities together.  He was always pleasant and fun to talk to .
The group met at my church. Charlie and a friend became ushers at our church and then began bringing home made goodies to share at fellowship after church.
I also sometimes saw Charlie at a Jazzercize class in our neighborhood Senior Center. It was fun, but eventually my health did not allow me to keep up with it.
COVID put a stop to these activities. I was so sad to learn that during this time Charles passed away. We have been able to resume some AGAPE activities and so miss his presence.
I extend my condolences to his family and other friends. 

I remember how friendly and helpful Charlie was when I moved into a unit at Montebello Condominiums soon after my husband's death in 1998.  Charlie and his mother, Mary, lived across the hall.   Charlie was very kind to his mother.  He also performed many useful errands for neighbors.  We often spoke of his childhood in New Canaan, CT.   After his mother's death, he moved away.  I was pleased to see him later at Fairfax County's Hollin Hall Senior Center.  Charlie became a favorite model for our figure drawing class and cheered us with his delightful observations.  

God loves you very much, Charlie.

I am Charlie's cousin Mark and we shared frequent letters over the last few decades tracing the Gansert family roots and childhood memories of when we got together. 
Charlie inspired me to conduct online ancestry research through his diligent efforts along with his mother, Mary Agnes, to compile and send me an extensive narrative of the Gansert family history. It was a joy to discover the many talents and accomplishments of the family over the last century.
I will greatly miss corresponding with Charlie but I will forever remember his smiling face, infectious laugh and charming voice.
My wife Nancy and I extend our deepest sympathy and  condolences to his brother John and sisters Madelein, Liz and Stephanie.
