Dear Derek, I wish I had done my diligence as a friend. You said friendship was holding hands until the hand was home, and i know you are in heaven holding hands with the angels. Love you, and I'm sorry.

Derek was a special guy. He was always offering interesting comments and definitely brought a unique and welcome presence to his college campus. Georgetown was a better school for having welcomed him, and the world is now a bit more boring without him, though I am thankful for the time we spent together and will never forget his eccentric humor.
