On Wednesday, June 11, 2014 FRANK O. STROBEL of Alexandria, VA, died peacefully surrounded at home with his family.

Cherished husband of the late Lucy C. Strobel. Loving son of the late Ralph and Cassie V. Strobel, and loving brother of the late Marie Louise Cole, Marie Hite and Elizabeth Voglin. Loving father of Nancy Strobel (Brian) McCormick, Carolyn (Paul) Mackey, Jennifer J. Strobel, and Jacqueline J. Sykes; grandfather of Joseph Sykes, Malachi Mackey, Jesse McCormick, Joshua Sykes, Kayla McCormick, Lukas McCormick and Tess Mackey; great grandfather of Christopher and Rachael Sykes; uncle and godfather of Karen Lee Bishop (Roger) Vasilas and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday, June 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306. Interment will be at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Poor Clare Nuns, 2505 Stonehedge Dr., Alexandria, VA, 22306.
