James Carroll McGlasson (Age 84) of Alexandria, VA passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016. Jim was born on January 20, 1932 in Charleston SC. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1950 until 1971, and attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he continued service to his country in the US Secret Service and as a civilian employee of the Marines. Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Nancy McGlasson, his daughter Sharon Mayer, and two sons, William Towns and Jamie McGlasson. A memorial service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home at 520 South Washington Street in Alexandria VA on Saturday, 16 July at 1PM.
