My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jim Wise, or “Captain” as I usually called him. I had the opportunity to get to know Jim as we lived near each other, went to the same church and occasionally ended up in the same restaurant. He was a most gracious, interesting, generous and warm friend. It was a gift to hear him tell of his many adventures during a remarkable life, and to experience his boundless curiosity as a man and author. Thank you, Captain! You will be missed.
