Judith Richardson Friedman of Alexandria VA passed away on August 9, 1924. She was born in St. Marylebone, London, England on July 25, 1924.
She attended high school and commercial college in England. Following graduation in 1944, she was employed by the United Kingdom as a British Civil Servant in London and served in Germany from 1946 to 1949 with the British Control Commission for Germany and Austria.
Judith immigrated to the United States in January 1949 with her first husband, Frank Turner Happy. She attained United States Citizenship in February 1955. They were divorced in 1963.
Judith was a civilian employee of the United States Air Force, the Department of Commerce, and Civil Aeronautics Administration, and served in Indianapolis, California, and Washington, DC. From 1956-1965
In October of 1965 she married Lt. Gen. Robert J. Friedman. They were married until his death in March of 2003.
In addition to her husband, a step-son, Douglas W. Friedman preceded her in death. She is survived by her step-son Robert J. Friedman, Jr.; his spouse, Elly; three step-grandsons; and three step-great grandchildren.
She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
