

We let you know with deep sadness that Julia passed away in her sleep, peacefully at home on February 16, 2024, at 4:20 P.M., in Alexandria, Virginia where she lived with her daughter, Mercedes Arbolaez.
Julia was born June 19, 1932, in Batabano, a province of Habana, Cuba. She was 91 years old at the time of her death but till the end she loved music, singing, dancing, and celebrating joy. Her laughter was a scream that always let you know where the good times were. At every gathering, everyone knew where mom was by the sound of her laugh.
In her 60s she traveled with a group of friends and had the time of her. The picture of her on the back of a Yak said it all. To those friends; she loved you all.
A loving daughter to Rene Casuso Perez (Tata) and America Perez. A wonderful mother to Rosa Arbolaez, Roberto Arbolaez III., Mercedes Arbolaez, and Iva Arbolaez. A devoted grandmother to Iris, Ione, Carlos, Samari, Nia, Robert IV, and Rachel; also a devoted and loving great grandmother to Imari, Nylah, Sage, and A.J.
A Central Service Assistant at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, Florida, Julia retired in February, 1995 after years of service to doctors, nurses, and patients in the emergency room.
Julia graduated from the Escuela Tecnica Industrial, in General Peraza, a province of Havana, Cuba on August 22, 1950, as a technician, with a diploma in food conservation. She is loved and she will be missed.
