

Maureen Lacey Kelliher died unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Mrs. Kelliher was a resident of Alexandria, growing up in Seminary Valley. She was a graduate of T.C. Williams High School (1976), the College of William and Mary (1980), and received her Master of Education degree from Regent University. Mrs. Kelliher taught school in Alexandria for 31 years, the last 26 at Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy in Olde Town. Mrs. Kelliher was also a valued member of the leadership team at LCTA. Maureen was a communicant at Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she volunteered extensively with their Youth Ministry Program and Work Camps as well as the Right of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Mrs. Kelliher is survived by her husband, Mark G. Kelliher, and four siblings and their spouses: Teresa Prescott ( Roger) of Alexandria, Timothy Lacey (Tori) of Stafford, VA, Shelagh Lacey of Arlington, Dr. Thomas Lacey of Alexandria, brother-in-law Carl Henne of Oakton, VA, and nine nieces and nephews residing in Northern Virginia. Mrs. Kelliher was predeceased by her father, Dr. Robert Lacey and mother, Catherine Beatson Lacey and sister Kathleen Lacey Henne.
Visiting Hours at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria (City), VA, 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm on Sunday, June 19, 2011. On Monday, June 20th at 1pm, a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Alexandria (Fairfax County), VA at 1pm on Monday, June 20, 2011.
