Born April 1, 1928, beloved daughter of Bessie Gilpin Vaughan and Lawrence Homer Vaughan, died Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born and raised in Logan, West Virginia and a resident of Alexandria, Virginia since 1963. After 62 years of marriage, Pauline is survived by her husband, Colonel Willis Adan Sammons, USAF, Retired, and their children, Jon Michael Sammons (Kathie), Mark Dana Sammons (Julie), and Lisa Sammons McDonald (James). She leaves behind nine grandchildren: Kelly Sammons Antonuccio, Patrick Michael Sammons, Brian Ross Sammons, Lindsay Sammons Rutt, Matthew Willis Sammons, Bryan William Sammons, James Franklin McDonald, III, John Lawrence McDonald, Lauren Vaughan McDonald, and one great grandchild, Lilliana Vaughan Antonuccio. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Demaine Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA. Private interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
