He was born September 12, 1939 in southern Lawrence County at his grandparents’ home to Stanley and Isabelle (Thompson) Boyd.
On July 8, 1974, he married Elaine Davis. He served his country in the US Army and earned the following medals and awards: Sharpshooter, Expert Rifle and Good Conduct.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
He and his wife owned De Ja Vu Antiques, Thrifts and Gifts Shop. He could fix just about anything and when asked what he was doing, his reply was: “just piddling”.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, 4 children: Tina (Ralph) Bowersock, Ken (Cullet) Davis, Trisha (Keith) Weger and Lori (Steven) Degley. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one sister, Roasalie Muckway and one brother, Danny (Cindy) Boyd.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Keepes and 3 brothers: Joe, David and Jack.
Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home in Alllendale, IL. Funeral service will be conducted at 11AM with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, IL. with military honors.
