He was a special agent for the FBI. The couple lived in Lima, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio before moving to the Washington, D.C. area where Harvey worked in the Washington, D.C. field office for many years. They had three sons whom Dorothy adored.
She was active in Republican politics as a volunteer in the northern Virginia area, working in particular for Representative Stan Parris. In addition to raising her sons and doing volunteer work for the local Fairfax County schools, she was an avid bridge player and, at one point, an accomplished duplicate player.
She moved to Florida with her husband in 1974 and lived in the Winter Springs area before moving to Village on the Green 19 years ago. She and Harvey were active in the Society of Former Agents of the FBI, serving as host and hostess for the national meeting when it was held in Orlando. She was a volunteer for the Seminole County Bar Association, winning a coveted volunteer award. She had an active social life at VOTG, playing bridge, bocce ball, and her favorite, Wii bowling.
Dorothy was awarded the 50-year Medallion by the Joslin Diabetes Center in 2006.
She will be buried next to her husband, Harvey, who predeceased her by 11 years. Internment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. She is survived by her three sons, George B. (Kathy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Harvey E. (Tamra) of Everett, Washington, and Scott L. (Marian) of Front Royal, Virginia, as well as two grandsons, Kevin and Jack Wilkinson.
