

George William Pollock, Jr.—affectionately known as “Bill,” Dad, or his absolute favorite name, “Papa”—passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was a treasured husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on September 1, 1944, Bill spent his life building a large, loving family -- His greatest legacy! He is survived by his four children: Susan (William) Frenette of Amherst, NH; George (Marilyn) Pollock of Apopka, FL; Sharon (Gene) Ostrowski of Casselberry, FL; and David Matthew Pollock (Talaysia) of Apopka, FL. He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren: Daniel, Douglas, George, Geoffrey, Greggory, Melissa, Joel, Marion, Marjorie, Lillian, Cole, and Solomon. He was also the adoring great-grandfather of 14 great-grandchildren: Logan, Angela, Raine, Xander, Brooklyn, Liam, Eli, Joshua, Gabriel, Malakai, Kingston, Hailey, Vincent, and Amari, and leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Bill is now reunited with his one true love and wife of over 62 years, Marion Emily Pollock. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Alexander Pollock; his parents, George and Marion Pollock; his sisters, Karen Branscombe and Diane Elaine Pollock; his niece, Sandra Branscombe Peterson; and his nephew, Brian Verge.
All are welcome to attend his burial service, which will begin promptly at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1 North, Mims, Florida 32754. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to his favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the St. Labre Indian School (stlabre.org).
