Jack Everett Thomas

Jack Everett Thomas, age 77 of Winter Park, FL departed this life Sunday, October 3rd, 2021. Jack was born July 18th, 1944 in Gravette AR to a large family. He grew up with his siblings as companions and loved to share stories of their antics growing up in the Los Angeles area. As a teenager, he was baptized into Christ and later moved across the country to attend Florida College in Tampa, FL. While in Tampa, Jack met the love of his life, Joy and they were married on June 19th, 1970. He obtained his Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling at University of South Florida. Jack and Joy (along with the additions to their family David and Nancy) moved to the Orlando area in June of 1981. Jack was well respected in his field and loved to work. He loved to laugh and to tell jokes, sometimes being so entertained by the joke, he could hardly get out the punchline through his laughter. His humor was contagious and his laugh uproariously delightful. Jack loved to entertain and frequently hosted themed parties with his wife and children at their home in Winter Park. There was only one thing more important in life to Jack than his family and that was his commitment and service to the Lord. Jack was a member of the Church of Christ at Palm Springs Drive for 40 years where he loved to lead singing, teach bible class and counseled countless people outside of services. Frequently after service, a line of children formed with little ones clamoring to swing on his arms like tree branches. Jack was a large presence in life and a deep void is in our hearts after his death. "Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord" (I Cor. 15:58).

Jack is survived by his wife Joy; Sister Nina; Brothers Wes, Jim and Jerry; son David; daughter Nancy and beloved grandchildren Chloe and Tyler.

A visitation for Jack will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 E ALTAMONTE DR, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32701. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 994 E ALTAMONTE DR, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32701. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Garden Of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610.
