Jesus said “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our precious Mother, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother, Jeanette Rae Carper Brady. Born in Ashtabula Ohio in 1931, Jennette was raised primarily by her Grandmother because her parents Ray and Elsie had to work long hours during the Great Depression at their grocery store (Carpers Modern Market). At the age of 16, she and her family moved to Ft. Lauderdale Florida where Jenny began high school and met her future husband, James Lee Brady. They eventually married the day after Christmas in 1952 during the winter break of their Senior at Florida State University.
Jenny is survived by her two children and their spouses, Sheryl Anne Brady McGill (Jack) and James Lee Brady II (Joy), her 10 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild, as well as countless friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and dedicated caregivers. She now has the privilege to reside with our Lord Jesus Christ and also with the one whom she always raised up and honored, her dearest love and our precious Father, Jim Brady, and therefore she now remains extremely happy and blessed.
Jenny, at the age of 24, flew overseas to Tachikawa, Japan by herself in a DC3 propeller plane, pregnant with her first child to meet Jim who was already stationed there serving as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Over the next 2 years, it was here where they began raising their two children in a home that Jim designed and built within the Air Force base before returning to Washington DC for the next 2 years while Jim pursued his carrier in Hotel Management and Jenny raising their two children.
Having family and friends in Ft. Lauderdale, Jenny and Jim returned there to enrich their lives and pursue their dreams. Here, Jenny began teaching Sunday School at the Moravian Church while raising their children, and Jim managed the Anacapri Restaurant and Hotel and finally the Red Coach Grill. But eventually they moved the family to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and on to Jericho New York, as Howard Johnson personally asked Jim to open new restaurants at these locations. Missing their family and friends, they finally returned home again to Ft. Lauderdale in 1968 where Jenny continued her preschool teaching, raising children as well as church and community service.
Jenny is well known in her church and community as one who always seemed to find a way to lift people up and remind them how unique and special they were within just a few magical moments of conversation. Always with a smile and a good word from a true happy and witty spirit which flowed from within her to friends and strangers alike… ask anyone.
She is greatly missed here by many and has now finally returned to what she had brought a bit of here on Earth… Heaven.
