John Harold Kruse, a resident of Central Florida, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025. He was 85 years old. He was born September 16, 1939 in Mt. Kisco, New York. His father was William King Hodge and his mother was Rosamond Kirtland Hodge Kruse. He was married to his wife Barbara Sager Kruse for almost 40 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Marie (Kruse) Lammert; his sister Roddy Morell; his granddaughters Elizabeth Lammert Carlson and Victoria Lammert Welch; and his grandson David Joseph Lammert.
John served in the U.S. Navy 9 years working on an aircraft carrier’s catapults. Afterwards, he began repairing mimeograph machines with A.B. Dick Company in San Diego, California. With his wife Barbara, he eventually opened his own quick print business in Jupiter Tequesta, Florida. After surviving several strokes and intensive brain surgery, John overcame many obstacles and was able to be a contributing member of his community through his volunteer work. Some of his volunteering was with Meals on Wheels for the elderly; Seminole County Work Opportunity Program (S.W.O.P.) for adults with special needs; and Christian Help’s food pantry. He also helped to serve meals through several local churches like Aloma Church where he was a member.
John enjoyed fishing, woodworking, barbecuing, crossword puzzles, and hoping the Miami Dolphins and the New York Yankees would win some games!
John will be remembered for his optimism, his sense of humor, and for his deep faith in his Lord Jesus.
John will be honored in a family memorial service in Longwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Help “In remembrance of John Kruse.” (www.christianhelp.org)
Arrangement entrusted to Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, East Altamonte Chapel.
