John lived a full and meaningful life marked by kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Throughout his years, he lived in many places, and no matter where life took him, he had a remarkable ability to connect with others. He was the kind of man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and make people feel welcome, valued, and at ease, leaving behind friendships and fond memories wherever he went.
In his younger years, John played high school football in Bay City, Texas, where his talent and determination stood out. He was once voted the number one linebacker in the state—an achievement that fueled a lifelong love for the game of football. That passion stayed with him throughout his life, bringing him joy, excitement, and countless moments of connection with family and friends.
One of the things that John loved just as much as he loved football was karaoke, singing brought him joy, and allowed his personality to shine. Whether singing his heart out to country music or Fall Out Boy- sugar we’re going down he knew how to enjoy life and bring others along with him.
John was known for his hardworking nature and took great pride in providing for his family. He spent most of his life working in communication line work and cable television, a career that took him across the nation. This path was not only his own, but one shared with his father and brothers, continuing a legacy of hard work, skill, and dedication. Through years of travel and long days, John gave his best effort in all that he did.
In the final chapter of his life, John made the meaningful decision to change occupations, choosing the opportunity to live, work, and be close to his son, Jordan. This transition allowed him to slow down, put down roots, and experience a sense of calm and steadiness he never knew he needed. He was genuinely happy—content to be in one place, surrounded by family and loved ones. In those moments, John was right where he was always meant to be.
John’s life was deeply rooted in faith. He loved God wholeheartedly and believed strongly in the power of prayer. His faith gave him strength, comfort, and guidance, and he trusted God’s plan through every season of life. Those who knew John witnessed his faith not only in his words, but in the way he lived—with grace, perseverance, humility, and compassion.
Above all else, John was a devoted and loving father. He is survived by his loving mother Joann Clark, brother Rick Clark and children: Zachary, Christopher, Jordan, Parker, and Emmalin Clark, who were the greatest joy of his life. He loved his sons deeply and was immensely proud of the men they are becoming. Emmalin, his daughter, was the little girl he had always hoped and waited for after raising three boys. While his love for his sons was strong and unwavering, the love he held for his daughter was unparalleled. She filled a piece of his heart he never knew was missing, and nothing brought him more happiness or made him prouder than his little girl.
John’s legacy lives on through his children, the values he instilled, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.
John will be remembered for his generous heart, warm smile, enduring faith, strong work ethic, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends find comfort in knowing he is now at peace, with his father Howard and his brothers Donnie, Robbie and Ronnie all resting in the presence of the Lord, surrounded by eternal love.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
