

Leila F. Castillo, 92, of Altamonte Springs, Florida went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2017. She was born October 4, 1924 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Ildefonso and Praxedes Feliciano. Leila was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was strong in her Christian faith, and very involved with her church (Forest City Seventh Day Adventist Church). Leila was a tremendous mother, caring for her sons after her husband’s passing in 1972. She moved with her youngest son to Florida from New York in 1976. Leila always stayed busy. She worked customer service at school cafeterias, as she enjoyed being around children, as well as at Florida Hospital. She also served as a crossing guard and a caregiver to many. She cared for people who were sick or had surgeries. She had a giving and nurturing heart for people, delivering food through the Meals on Wheels program and taking them to doctor’s appointments. Above all, Leila loved her family and spending as much time as she could with them. She was proud of her grandchildren and the outstanding individuals they have become. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she impacted with her generosity and love. Leila was preceded in passing by her husband, Alberto Castillo; her brothers Victor and Jose Abel Feliciano; and her sisters Elsa Cintron and Violeta Delgado. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Castillo (Instructional Designer) and his wife Dr. Glenda Castillo, Albert Castillo (Technical Project Manager) and his wife Julie (College Professor); brothers, Samuel and Thomas Feliciano; sister, Rosa Julia Felix. Leila’s grandchildren are Dr. Daniel F. Castillo and his wife Dr. Ashley Castillo, Giovanny Castillo (Computer Engineer), Xavier Castillo (Customer Service Specialist) and his wife Sarai (Nursing Assistant), Jasmine Castillo (Customer Service Specialist), and Marisol Goss (Bio-Medical Researcher) and her husband Robert Goss (Network Engineer); as well as two step-grandchildren, James and William Mooney (College Students), and 5 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Kian, Elijah, Thalia, and Analia. Visitation will be held Friday, March 17 from 5-9pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. Service will follow on Saturday, March 18 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment following service at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.
