Lois M. Guarnaschelli, 80 years young, passed away peacefully at 9:02am on July 15, 2019 at Encompass Health Care in Altamonte Springs. She was born in Queens, New York on March 24, 1939 to the late Stephen and Angela Guarnaschelli. Although being born in queens, Lois was raised in Mt. Vernon, New York, New Rochelle, New York, Sacramento, California, Naugatuck, Connecticut and Garden City, New York.
Lois attended St. Anne’s Elementary School in Garden City, Sacred Heart High School in Hempstead and Endicott Junior College in Beverly. After finishing school she had careers in Boston and New York City until May of 1970 when Lois made the move to Orlando, Florida. After several years working in legislation, Lois became the aid to Senator Ken Plante, followed by the aid to the Orange County Delegation. Lois had all the right contacts and connections for all the constituents. After retiring Lois enjoyed a simpler life in Fern Park, surrounded by many who loved and admired her.
Lois is predeceased by her parents and brother John Guarnaschelli, formerly of New York, who passed away in July 2018. She is survived by her “much” younger brother Stephen A. (Steve) Guarnaschelli along with a multitude of friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home East Altamonte. A service will begin at 1:00pm. Lois will be laid to rest with her parents in the “condo” at All Faiths Memorial Park in Casselberry. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Lois’s name to the American Heart Association, the Arthritis Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
