Mary "Ma Pete" Peters

Mary R. Peters, 86, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away on May 28, 2017. Affectionately known as “Ma Pete” and “Rusty,” she was born to the late William and Mary Reid in Glen Allen, VA on November 14, 1930. Mary was a beloved mother and grandmother. She most enjoyed spending time her with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was a feisty woman with red hair, which led to her nickname “Rusty” as most of her friends referred to her as. She was witty and loved to laugh and make others laugh. Mary also enjoyed dancing and spending time with her friends. She was a member of WaterStone Church (formerly First Baptist of Altamonte Springs). Above all, Mary was always caring about her family, even at times when she needed to care for herself. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved. Mary was preceded in passing by 2 bothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her beloved family – daughter, Mary Lou Graham and her husband Rich; grandchildren, Brittany Howell and her husband Daniel, Rebecca, Katie, Stephanie, Stephen, John, and Joseph; and great-grandchildren Isaiah, Jayden, Talitha, and Naomi. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Thursday, June 1 at 3:00pm at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte, 994 E Altamonte Drive. Arrangements are under the care of Baldwin Fairchild, an honored Dignity Memorial provider.
